A circular economy: too good to waste

Building on its strong track record in waste management and recycling, the NSW Government is transitioning to a circular economy.

An innovation network, NSW Circular, will examine new ways to reuse and keep materials in use for as long as possible.

The government will lead by example by implementing circular economy principles in its own procurement processes.

It will support local innovation and reduce barriers to the adoption of these principles by the private sector and local government.

A circular economy is not only the right thing to do for the environment; it makes good economic sense, as there are significant jobs and growth opportunities for existing and new businesses across NSW.

The NSW government will support local innovation and reduce barriers to the adoption of these principles by the private sector and local government.
