NSW Government’s Social Impact Investment Policy commits government to identifying areas of opportunity where better outcomes could be achieved through social impact investment.
In 2016, policy areas were identified in both the 2016 Statement of Opportunities and NSW 2016-17 Budget.
Based on the success of the first two Social Benefit Bonds and on recent consultation with service providers, intermediaries and financiers, OSII has announced a request for proposals (RFP) for new bonds in three focus policy areas:
- Increasing permanency for children in out of home care, particularly through open adoption;
- Improving outcomes through early childhood education; and
- Addressing youth unemployment.
The RFP is also open to proposals in other policy areas, though these will need to meet evaluation criteria to a very high standard.
The RFP closes at 9am on 12 December 2016. You can access the RFP documents and more information through NSW e-tendering. You will need to register with e-tendering to download the documents. Proposals must also be lodged through the e-tendering site.
